to introduce Jonah

A few months after we got married, Aaron and I made the life-changing decision to make an addition to our little family. We figured we were ready to add a dependent.

So, we bought a betta fish.

We named him Carl Winslow. He was nice. And he liked living in our apartment living room.

He was with us for a long time until he came to a tragic end.

At that point, we were getting ready to move into our house, so we didn't get a new fish just yet.

Last July, after we were settled in our house, we were at Briar Creek with our friend Brandon, and we walked past Petsmart. I asked Aaron if it was time to move on from Carl, finally, and buy a new fish.

We did.

And we named him Jonah.

He sure is a good little fish! He's still hanging with us over a year later!

He lives on the kitchen counter, and he's the most selfless one of us all.

I clean his bowl every other week, and his bettamatic feeder gives him a meal every day.

He keeps me company while I cook, and watches out for any trouble when we leave the house.

So, if you haven't already, meet Jonah.
