About My Family

My Family

 This is me.
Born on October 29, 1987 to my amazing parents. A little brother came along a few years later. Grew up in NC since age 7. Loved school at Wake Christian Academy. Graduated from Campbell University with a BA in Birth-K5 Education. Core member of Journey Church where I (re)met my wonderful husband.
I like music, taking pictures with my iPhone, and Disney.
I am currently a housewife and stay-at-home mom with a small, part-time job at our church.

This is Aaron.
Born on October 13, 1983 and raised by equally amazing parents. The middle child in a family of three boys. Grew up in NC since middle school. Crossed paths with me at Wake Christian Academy but moved onto Liberty University when I was still in middle school. Graduated with a degree in English. Found his way back to Raleigh after the start of Journey Church. There I was waiting.
Aaron likes Disney, Batman, and theater.
He is the full-time Next Generation Pastor at Journey Church and an absolutely amazing dad to our son.

This is our story.
Aaron and I grew up in the same school and same church with a 5 year age gap. Therefore, we knew of each other. In 2006, I graduated high school, Journey was well underway, and Aaron felt God's calling to be a part of the kids' ministry at Journey. Our paths crossed again but we still barely associated with each other. We were grouped in the same small group together for the next two years where we remained acquaintances at most. At the end of 2008, things changed quickly, and all of a sudden it seemed, we were dating!
After being together for just a few months, we both knew this was it. Aaron proposed in August of 2009. We were married June 11, 2010.
I am completely addicted to my husband and I love him more everyday! We are on a busy, non-stop journey together, and I wouldn't trade anything for it. We laugh every day. We are best friends. I am head over heels.

This is Graeme.
Born on March 23, 2014, this little boy is our joy! He was long-awaited, and we cannot thank God enough for him. Our purpose and goal is to raise him to love Jesus with his whole heart. He smiles at just about anyone and is such an easy-going baby. We can't get enough of him, really. He surprises us every day with how much he grows and learns.

This is Penny.
At the end of August 2011, I dragged Aaron to a Cary pet store to "look at cute puppies." Little did we both know we would leave having paid a deposit to pick up a female Havanese puppy in 2 weeks. Penny entered our world September 8, 2011. She has taught us patience, responsibility, and selflessness. She's a spoiled princess and she entertains us all the time. She's a little, fluffy, sweet ball of energy and friendliness. We love our Penny girl.

This is our church.
We are part of Journey Church in Raleigh. Our mission is pretty simple:  to help people follow Jesus. Aaron and I specifically strive to create authentic, intentional environments for birth-25 years. In addition, I love being part of our worship team and leading others into worship when I'm not hanging with the kids. We love serving Jesus together and seeing kids, students, and adults take the next step on their journey with Christ.
