blogging is hard sometimes

Most people say that your second child is not quite as "documented" as your first. Meaning baby books, pictures, videos, journals, and so on.

I know this is somewhat true for me and my brother. My childhood photo album is a bit more crowded. Haha.

I saw a blog before I became pregnant this time. It was a mom writing an apology to her second child about how their baby book was often neglected and they didn't have as many photos and videos. Because this time around the mom was busy loving both kids. And chasing the older brother around.

I think I can understand that.

I blogged about every single week after the first trimester of my pregnancy with Graeme. This goal with Baby 2 is already seeming incredibly insurmountable. I was telling a friend that as much as I love writing on this blog, lately, it's been way down on my list of things to do. With Graeme only taking one nap (and needing constant supervision when he's awake), working part-time, and then barely having energy to take a shower and stay awake past 8:30pm in the evenings, blogging and many other things are falling to the wayside.

So, I will try my best to document Baby 2 during pregnancy and life. But I think I surrender to the truth that having two kids is way different than having one. And some things will just have to be more important than others. Sanity and rest will win!

But, today, I do have some time and some brain power to put some words onto the screen.

So, hi.

I am 15 weeks pregnant as of yesterday. Baby 2 is the size of an orange. I feel more pregnant this time around. For example, I already feel like it's uncomfortable to sleep on my stomach. And every once in awhile I perhaps maybe think I already feel the baby. I can't be 100% certain on that though.

Just like my pregnancy with Graeme, there is a magical switch that got flipped right around 14 weeks that made me feel a bazillion times better. No more nausea or throwing up. Most food sounds good to me again. I think Aaron is especially glad of this. Our restaurant and dinner choices were quite narrow for awhile.

So now, my only problem is being tired all of the time. This is most likely caused by pregnancy plus running after a very, very busy toddler all day long.

I had a routine appointment last Friday with my OB. When we made the appointment I wanted it to be with my favorite doctor. We were looking at dates a month out, and the receptionist said our doctor was going to be out of town but could do the Friday before. This happened to be a day that Aaron was at camp with the kiddos from church, but he graciously said I should go anyway and take my mom with me instead.

Before he left for camp, I jokingly said, "You know, if he can't find the heartbeat right away they will do an ultrasound. What do I do if he can see the gender?!"

Well, I should have kept my mouth shut because sure enough, my prediction came true. When he listened with the doppler, we kept hearing little jabs. He said the baby was kicking. He moved it around for a couple of minutes with no luck in finding that steady little beat. At one point, I heard one and said "Oh!" And the doctor said, "That's yours."

"Oh."

After two or three minutes he said he wasn't going to chase the baby around all morning and we should just go next door and take a look. Even though hearing the baby's heartbeat is absolutely amazing, seeing the baby on the screen is extra reassuring and exciting.

Our little sweet baby had grown so much since Aaron and I had last seen them seven weeks before. The heart rate was strong and steady at 161bpm. The doctor moved around a bit.

"There's his head. There's his face. There's his stomach. There's his arm."

"Wow, that's awesome," I said. Because I still can't get over how amazing growing a baby is. "Wait, you're just saying 'his' like neutral 'his,' right?!"

He and my mom laughed. "Yes, neutral. I don't know that I could tell yet."

He moved the wand so we could see in-between the baby's legs. I of course have no clue what I'm looking at really and he moved it away quickly, so I didn't see much of anything.

"Well don't say it if you know!" I quickly added. "Aaron might kill me!"

"It's still pretty early to be sure," he said as he shut it down and pulled off a few pictures for me to take.

I sat up and we stood to leave. "Thanks so much. We will see you next time," I said as we walked out of the exam room.

"Yep. See you. And I think I know what it is."

"What?!" my mom and I both said loudly.

"I think I'm right, but you'll have a better look at it next month. And I will be curious to see if I'm right!"

This, of course, made it very hard not to just ask him. But, I knew I wanted Aaron to be there and I would never find out without him. Plus, if the doctor was wrong, I would hate to get my heart set on something that might change. The receptionist reassured us that he was definitely not able to tell that for sure at this point. Although I guess the only "for sure" is when you see the baby for the first time!

We left with the date for our anatomy ultrasound (August 17!!) and some sweet pictures of Baby 2's profile. That was more than good enough for me.

Graeme will be 16 months old tomorrow! Oh my!

He's very busy. He's very opinionated. He's very talkative. And he's very persuasive.

I know every parent thinks their kid is cute and funny. We are no exception. We think our little kid is so stinking cute and he's hilarious.

I love to just watch him play with things because it is fascinating to watch his little brain computing.

He is still very tall for his age. At his 15 month check-up he was 33.5 inches (over the 95%) and 25 pounds, 13 ounces. The doctor said he should be saying six-nine words. He's got about one hundred. Again, I'm not sure how he's so smart. God made him!

He knows a lot of his shapes, especially circles and stars. And bats. Because of course he knows what a bat is. He all of a sudden could say his opposites last week. We have an Eric Carle Opposites book that we read maybe every couple of days. When Aaron was at camp, he and I were reading it, and he just started saying the opposites. I was blown away. He can say almost all of the rainbow colors, but the one he is consistently right about is blue. He goes around the house and finds thing that are blue and will shout "Blue!" over and over until you acknowledge that "Yes, that is 'blue,' and you are very smart." Aaron Bauer's son for sure.

He loves to look for airplanes. Our house is right under some sort of flight path so we see quite a few planes. Some are fairly low to the ground and he gets so excited. When he can't see it anymore he will say "Where'd it go?!" and then wave "Bye-bye." Last week we were in the mall parking lot and the ABC11 helicopter flew over. He screamed "Airplane!"

"Yes, buddy, that's kind of like an airplane but it's called a helicopter. Helicopter."

He stared after it and then spouted off "helicopter" in his own little language. He then talked about the helicopter going bye-bye all the way home and when we got home he immediately looked up in the sky and asked about it.

"Well, unfortunately, I don't think we'll see another helicopter today. They don't come around very often."

I should have known better again. After dinner that night, we happened to be outside when a giant military helicopter flew over. Graeme was ecstatic. And so was I. Because how often do you see two helicopters in one day?

Graeme's hair grows like a weed and is already back in his eyes and on his ears. When he starts constantly rubbing his eyes to get it out of his way, it's definitely time for another haircut. He has an appointment on Friday.

Well, that's what's been going on around here with us and our two little ones. Until next time, friends.

so much change!

Hello.

I know, I've had quite the hiatus. A lot has been going on since my last post in April. Not only do we have a running, talkative, attention-seeking, adorable toddler, but we also have a new little addition on the way! Yes indeed, our family is adding another little baby to the mix. We are very thrilled and can't wait to meet Baby Bauer 2 in January.

My blog has taken a backseat lately because I have been exhausted. I realize being tired is the life of all parents and pregnant people. But it's true, whenever Graeme is sleeping, whether at nap time or at night, I can barely bring myself to do much of anything. Writing a blog has sounded like a tiring amount of work. Ha. Come on, second trimester.

Everything about this pregnancy so far is very similar to my pregnancy with Graeme, with a few exceptions. I have way more cravings this time. Not sure why. Specifically Chick-fil-a, Goldfish crackers, and Pirate's Booty cheese puffs. I have a strong aversion to eggs again. I have been pretty sick for the past six weeks. It seems a little bit worse this pregnancy just because this time around I can't really stop and rest whenever I want. No matter how I feel, there is a little ball of energy that feels great and ready to play! I do my best to rest or nap when he takes a nap. And Aaron will tell you that I pass out on the couch by 8:30 or 9pm every night.

Knock on wood, I have been way less nauseous for the past three days, so I am hoping I am done with that! With Graeme, I started to feel better around 13-14 weeks and then had an amazing pregnancy for the remainder of the time. Here's to that happening again.

Graeme, of course, has changed pretty drastically since his first birthday. He is fifteen months old now! He's had his first major haircut that was more than a trim, although you wouldn't know it now. In two months it has grown out to be just as long as before.

He wasn't walking by his birthday, and he wasn't in too much of a hurry after he turned one either! Right around 13 months he went from crawling to walking around within a couple of days. He didn't waste time once he decided to walk! Now, he runs and dances and walks backwards.

Graeme talks A LOT. According to the all-knowing internet (ha), the average 15-month old says about six-eight words. I don't know how accurate that is since every kid is so different. I started trying to make a list of the words Graeme says. Now, not all of them are pronounced correctly, of course, but my list consists of about 70 words so far. I might be forgetting some. I have no explanation for this other than:  God made him unique, we read him hundreds of books and have done this since he was born, and we talk to him all of the time and tell him what things are and what we're doing.

Much to our delight, the boy loves to read books. At times, we will go through a pile of 20 books and he will still ask for more. They are mostly board books, not novels, but we're still impressed. He has expanded his tastes in books a little bit and will even let us read new books more often and not the same ones over and over.

He loves Batman and Curious George. He and Aaron will sit and watch the old Batman TV series with Adam West on the weekends and he constantly asks to watch Curious George. His favorite character on "George" is the little dachshund, Hundley, so we have watched all of the episodes containing him about one million times. Yes, he still loves dogs the most. And no, he still doesn't consider "Peppy" (Penny) a dog.

We took him to the beach at the beginning of June. He had been to the beach when he was four months, but this time he could participate more than just laying there. He was not a huge fan of the actual ocean and sand part of the beach. The ocean scared him and he didn't like getting sand on his hands and feet. He did enjoy the little inflatable pool we brought him to play in on the beach and his beach toys. So, it was not a total catastrophe. He loves the swimming pool, so there is still hope.

Aaron and I took our first extended trip away without Graeme for our fifth anniversary. We went to our favorite place. Obviously that is Disney World. It was wonderful to get away for four whole nights and focus completely on each other. We of course missed Graeme like crazy, but it was very worthwhile to reconnect and not have a schedule that we were constantly making decisions around for a few days. We came back home overjoyed to see Graeme and he was just as happy to see us. Next year on our anniversary we will be leaving two kids behind...crazy!

On Sunday, 12-weeks-pregnant Me is perhaps insanely embarking on a solo plane ride with a 15-month old. In order to visit my grandparents and family in Florida, we devised a plan that Graeme and I will fly down to Tampa where my parents (who are already down there) will pick us up. We will spend a few days with family and then drive back to Raleigh through the night with my parents next Wednesday. Aaron and Penny are staying home this time, sadly. If I can make it to a seat on the plane and somehow entertain a restless Graeme for 1.5 hours, it will be a piece of cake. Yikes.

Well, I am not planning on waiting three months before I write again. Maybe once a week is doable for now. We shall we. Happy Independence Day!

a year gone by

THIS WAS YESTERDAY. (so it seems)

Time, like money, is very relative. It comes and goes. You want more or you have less.

Some people have kids that are grown way more than mine and could truly say that they have been a parent for a long time.

I have only been a parent for one year. But, to me right now, that is a pretty long time.

Aaron and I actually made it through the first year of our first child. We even really, really enjoyed it and are looking forward to the second year! And one day in the future, even a second kid! (Have courage, new parents!)

Anyway.

Here are some of my thoughts on lessons learned, baby products I loved, and maybe a word of encouragement if you're still at the very beginning of this thing called parenting.

First, here's 3 things I've learned, and let's face it, I am still learning!

1.  There is seriously not one right way to do anything with a baby. You must keep your baby rested, fed, clean, dressed, and healthy. And there are about a hundred ways to accomplish each of those things. Just try getting on Google and typing in something like "what to do if my baby has diarrhea." The first post will tell you not to worry too much. The next one will say to rush them straight to the doctor. Good. Grief. With your first baby, every little thing is new. All you want to do is make the right decision. You just need somebody to tell you what that decision is. AND THERE'S NO ONE THAT CAN. This is frustrating. If I may speak to myself too, because I still freak out sometimes, I want to tell you that you can make the decision, whatever it may be, and you will figure out the right one. Once you do, stick with it. It's right for you and your family.

2.  FLEXIBILITY. Oh man, I am not one that loves being flexible. Things have an order. There is a schedule. Please don't be late. Please don't make changes last minute. This is where this sits in the house and it can't be moved. Haha do I sound crazy? Maybe I'm being a tad extreme in my description of myself. If you are not like this, that is probably a good thing! If you are, you will learn (or have learned) that a baby pretty much requires constant flexibility. Even with a schedule (because believe me, Graeme has been on one since we came home with him), it is inevitable that something will need to be changed almost daily. And as much as I love a clean house, some days it's just not in the cards. On the days when I wake up with a "let's get things done when possible, but it's okay if they don't happen" attitude, it's a much better day for everyone.

3.  Comparison will steal your joy.  Like I said above, you figure out what works for your baby and then stick with it. THEN, do not compare what you're doing with other moms and either second guess yourself or look down on them for what they are doing. We've all heard that every baby is different. Well, it's true. One baby walks at ten months. The other doesn't walk until 15 months. One started eating table food at six months. The other didn't start until 12 months. One baby takes three naps. The other at the same age takes two. You give Tylenol. They use home remedies. You co-sleep. They put their baby in the crib the day they brought him home. It goes on and on and on. I think we can all agree that we hate to be judged, especially on how we parent. But we are often quick to judge others. Instead, treat others as you want to be treated. Be an encourager. And don't miss out on the joys of watching your little one grow by always worrying what someone else is doing or thinking.

Alright, let's move on to something lighter and more fun! I'm going to try to list my top 3 products that we have used for an entire year and still love. Now, there are tons of other things that we love and use all of the time. But these 3 we have used since Graeme has been born and still love to use them. These are not in order at all.

1. Fisher Price light-up seahorse. I don't know what it is about this strange blue seahorse, but we have used it almost every day since Graeme has been born. I turn it on when I lay him in his crib, and most of the time, he is asleep before it stops glowing and playing music. At the start of this year, I would not have known how much we would love this thing. I cannot believe it's on my list, but it is.

2. JJ Cole diaper bag. My parents were gracious in buying me this bag, because I honestly thought it was a little pricey for a diaper bag. I am sure any old bag would due the trick to carry a baby's things. But, I will say that I still love my diaper bag and I am not at all sick of it. It has tons of pockets and tons of room. I have the matching diaper clutch which is awesome. I am usually sick of a purse after a few months, but after a whole year with this bag, I am not tired of the color or of carrying it around.

3. Thoughts to Make Your Heart Sing.  I know this is not a baby product, per se. We have, with very few exceptions, read a page out of this book every night of Graeme's life. We are on our third time through it currently. It is the last thing we read to him before we pray and lay him down at night. And it is constantly encouraging me or speaking into a situation we are in the midst of. I love, love this book. I don't know that I could ever tire of reading these little thoughts.

Wow. I still can't believe a whole year has gone by since we brought our baby boy home. He is so different now. It is amazing watching a baby grow first hand from literally just laying around and doing not much of anything, to a year later being able to talk and express himself and do so many things on his own. I know Aaron and I are a long, long way from being any sort of parenting experts. I don't think there really is such a thing. But getting to that very first birthday feels like quite the accomplishment. It is hard work. It is rewarding and frustrating and draining and fulfilling. All at the same time. What a conundrum being a parent is!

If you're just starting out, it seems quite daunting. And when your day with your newborn baby seems entirely too long, you might hate hearing "That first year will fly by!" But it will. It does. So, as cliche as this is:  Enjoy it. Not in the "enjoy every second" way. (Because who really enjoys losing sleep and getting spit up on all the time?!) But, enjoy it. In the "find joy in every day" way. Stop worrying about measuring up and messing up and enjoy your baby.

You can do it. You've got this. You are the parents meant for your child.

Babies do not keep. Fact.

he's one!

His shirt says it all.

He's one!

Look at those arms span that whole crib. Goodness. He has grown an entire foot since he was born.

What's new with Graeme?

He's still eating well and actually prefers to vegetables to fruit most of the time. He finished cutting the top teeth on both sides next to his front teeth, and I have a feeling the bottom two will follow shortly or are even on their way now.

He talks and talks. Of course a lot is still babble, but he says a lot of words too. I made a big list last month of the words he was already saying. He's added:

  • Batman
  • Superman (Pa-pa-pa)
  • Mail
  • Shoes
  • Book
  • Balloon
  • School bus/Big truck (they sound the same)
  • Mickey
  • Dog
  • Night-night
  • GiGi
  • Pop
  • MiMi
  • Maggie (my parent's dog)
  • Daddy for Aaron and now refers to my dad as Dada
  • Fish
  • Ball
  • Cheese
  • Juice
I'm sure I've left some out, but you get the idea.

"I'm basically a genius."

Some of his favorite things are helping to feed the fish, helping grind coffee, getting the mail, taking baths, playing with Penny, and he still loves to read.

Can I just add in here that Graeme has become obsessed with dogs. He LOVES dogs and if we mention going to the window to look for one or going on a walk to find dogs he gets so excited. And when he actually sees a dog he is beside himself with glee and reaches and keeps saying "dog" over and over. BUT. He has no idea that Penny is a dog. And whenever we allude to this he stares at her and looks at us like we are crazy. She's just Penny, obviously, and part of the family.
"Penny? A dog? No way. She's just my pal."

This past month Graeme witnessed his first big snowfall. He was not very impressed at being set down in the snow, but it did spark his curiosity.

We had a lot of time to kill being stuck indoors for 48 hours, and we eventually ran out of ideas other than, "Hey! Let's get in your toy box!"

This may have backfired and he now asks to get in there all. the. time.

As we approached his birthday, he got his first presents from his great-grandparents. A Mickey towel and hat (not pictured) and his first pair of learning-to-walk shoes.

We had his party this past Saturday at a local park that Aaron and I stumbled upon years ago when we lived in our apartment. It was brand new at that time, and is right next to a giant landfill. Don't be deceived, it's a very nice park! Their shelter is available to use free-of-cost without making a reservation, so it sounded like a great idea to us!

The setting, so you don't think I made my kid have his birthday party next to a mountain of trash.
I will have more party pictures later, but here are a couple for now.

Graeme was not sure about his little cake at all. (Which was so cute I wanted to keep it forever.) We had to force his hand to touch it, and then he was upset that his hand was so messy. Then we made him try a bite and he spit it out. Ha! Maybe with some more cake practice throughout the year we can turn him into a pro by his second birthday.

Aaron and I didn't give him any presents at his party, so on Sunday night in preparation for his actual birthday, we set everything out to surprise him in the morning. He's not huge on unwrapping, so we left everything open. Also, he loves balloons, so we made sure to have some of those too!

He loves his new tent, puzzle, and all of his new books. The IKEA train track, we knew, would be destroyed first thing. That one is intended to be for a little later in the year. Batman was well received and has joined his big stuffed Superman he got as a baby. Lastly, Daniel Tiger is our favorite show that we all enjoy, so we had to include him in the festivities.

After we played with his new toys for awhile, he took a good nap and we headed out for brunch with all four of his grandparents. We are so thankful that he is growing up around his close family members, and he was so excited to see who we were meeting. Graeme can devour some pancakes, so his birthday meal was just perfect for him.

Sorry it's sideways. It's a dog, even better.
When the waiter offered to bring a birthday treat, we said sure. Graeme loved looking at the candle, but just like his birthday cake, he did not like the ice cream. This must change.

After brunch, Aaron and I took him to Toys-R-Us because he got a birthday card from them to bring in to the store in exchange for a balloon and a crown. He had received a gift card from his party as well, so we shopped around for another birthday surprise.

It was a very fun birthday, indeed.

Well, this post has gotten pretty long, so I'll end it and start another one with some more meandering thoughts I have after a whole year of motherhood.

Happy 1st Birthday to our little Graeme Grayson. You are a gift.

March 19th snuck up on me this time

Aaron has two calendars on his desk. One is Mickey Mouse standing next to the date saying "My oh my, what a wonderful day!" The other is a tear-off calendar just for this year of different Disney animation. I know that it's shocking that they are both Disney. Ha.

Today we changed the date to March 19th, and I was transported in my mind to a year ago. March 19th was our due date, and I remember waking up feeling so anxious (in a good way) that this day could very well be the day we met our little Graeme Grayson. March 19th had taken forever to actually arrive in the first place. That, of course, was not the plan. He hung around inside for a few more days.

Even though I didn't know what day he was coming last year, I knew it would be within a week or so, and I also knew that week seemed like the longest amount of time ever. It's funny how my perspective is very much changed this year.

Graeme's birthday is four days away, and I am realizing just how fast these few days will go by. And we will officially have a child that has lived an entire year on this earth. A one-year-old. An age that seemed so distant when we first held our tiny baby almost a year ago.

Even though I wish to hold that little, tiny newborn again every once in awhile, I am loving watching Graeme grow into a spunky little toddler. For every time he tests my patience, he makes me laugh and smile ten times over. His upcoming birthday has me so excited.

It's almost my birthday!

I am not much of an event-planner or a craft person at all. The idea of throwing a party for someone makes me all kinds of nervous. That being said, I have thoroughly enjoyed planning Graeme's first birthday party. We decided to save a character theme for when he would be able to participate more and went for a "Colorful" theme.

Rainbow sounded a little girly and even though there are some crayon elements, it's not a crayon party. So I feel like "Colorful" is the best way to describe it.

God is giving us a beautiful, sunny day for his party right in the middle of some rainy days, so we will press on with our plan to celebrate at a nearby park with a shelter you can use at no charge, praise.

I have put on my crafty hat and made some banners with a handy-dandy banner kit that was pretty much sent down just for me from the crafting higher-ups, in my opinion. I finally gave up my strike on Pinterest that I had held for no real reason. It was helpful in getting ideas for the food, cake, and invitations. Our lovely friend Julie owns a little bakery company and she makes the best cakes ever. She made our amazing baby shower cake and I have no doubt she will make Graeme's first birthday cake even more special.

Baby Shower Cake

I can't wait to share pictures after his party on Saturday.

Well, I should probably wrap this up as nap time will be coming to an end pretty quickly. Happy March 19th to you and yours.

he's almost one!

Yesterday, Graeme turned 11 months old, and I am trying to comprehend how I am 30 days away from having a one-year-old.

We've all heard parents say "Kids grow up so fast!" So, if you're a parent, you're tracking with me. If you're not a parent yet, just believe us that this is true:  your kids really do seem to grow from a tiny baby to a little person in the blink of an eye.

And I know I can't even comprehend it fully. Like I said, I am only almost one year in.

I have tried to be really intentional all year about soaking in every possible moment with Graeme. I know I am not always successful. But I try to put my phone away when I am with him (minus the million pictures I have taken of him), leave the cleaning and housework for when he's asleep (except wiping up drool and crumbs), and get down on the floor to play with him (my jeans all have very faded knees). Now that we are days away from his first birthday, I am even more aware of the need to be present with him and not miss any of his absolute adorableness.

He is learning something new every. day.

The biggest change this past month has probably been his growing vocabulary. I don't have much to go on here, but in my opinion, he's talking a lot for his age. He says:

  • Dada
  • Mama
  • Penny
  • Baby
  • Ba-ba (bottle or bye-bye)
  • Puffs
  • Bath
  • Mimi
  • Me-me (referring to himself when he wants something)
  • Thank you
  • Love you
  • Psst psst (pretends to whisper a secret)
  • Puzzle (Pu-pu, but he means puzzle)
  • Balloon (sounds like ball sort of)
  • Read
  • Please (when he feels like it)
  • Up
  • Elmo
  • Pooh
I can't think of anymore right now. If he can't say a word, he is still pretty efficient at communicating what he wants. He knows a lot of things too. Like he knows in the morning we make coffee while Aaron takes Penny outside. He gets very upset if he thinks I started without him. He must be held so he can watch. He knows how to give Penny a treat and loves doing that. He knows the names of meals and is excited for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. He likes helping Mimi and Grandy get the mail at their apartment and knows how to work their key remote to open the doors.

He's a pretty smart kid. But we are a little biased.

"Up!"

He loves playing different games now like peek-a-boo, pat-a-cake, and "throwing" toys for Penny. He likes for us to chase him around the island in the kitchen while he crawls as fast as he can. He has several little balls that go to various toys and every once in awhile he'll pick one up and motor as fast as he can to the top of the stairs so he can push the ball through the bars of the gate and watch it bounce down the steps. He still loves to read books, and is especially intrigued with his lift-the-flap books right now. He has memorized which way all the flaps flip, which blew our mind. He also still loves his touch-and-feel books and will often bend down to kiss the pages. This is hilarious and we have no idea why he does this.

Playing with Penny and his puzzle

His appetite is still going strong. After many, many sippy cup purchases, we finally found one that he didn't detest and refuse to even consider trying. Of course, it had to be the most expensive sippy cup we had bought so far. Of course. So, for breakfast, lunch, and dinner he has his milk out of a sippy cup that he can drink out of by himself. (This. is. a. life. saver.) He is still having a bottle at bedtime for now. He generally eats whatever we are eating. His favorite foods right now seem to be yogurt (still), the banana bread I made last week that we pull out of the freezer for breakfast some days, and hibachi chicken with vegetables and rice. He is also a puffs addict and requests them after every meal.

 Such a big boy

Well, I think that covers all of the major going-ons with Graeme this past month. Words we use to describe him on a daily basis:  cute, funny, fun, dramatic, so cute.

We surely love you, Graeme Grayson.

I sat down and addressed the invitations for his birthday party this evening and couldn't believe I was already doing that. Last year at this time I was dying for him to be here and that still seems like just yesterday.

Next time I write one of these monthly posts, he will be one. Wow. Slow down, time.
